The various small clumps of trees in the fields north of Faucheldean are labelled Tippet Knows on the map. They probably mark places where the bedrock is too close to the surface for convenient or successful cultivation. The houses are part of the housing development that probably at least doubled the size of Winchburgh in the 20th century.
