The path from the middle of Pontardawe up Cwm Du glen runs along the west side of the Upper Clydach river before turning away and ascending to Glan-rhyd Plantation. To stay in the glen you must cross this modern "L" shaped bridge to the east bank from where you can exit to James Street or continue upstream on a slightly more precarious path.
