Gateway to Eightlands Villa, Dewsbury

In 1885 a commercial traveller called Joseph Alfred lived in Eightlands Villa, which was a large house for a someone with a relatively humble job, suggesting that even then the house was sub-divided. It has been demolished and the grounds made into a small park. Little iron domed cylinders protect the bases of the gateposts from damage, presumably by cart or coach wheels.
