This bridge once carried the country lane between Great Linford and Willen over the canal, and is part of the original infrastructure although much rebuilt. Today it is reduced to being open to pedestrians and cyclists only. A remnant of the old Willen Lane is left on the west side of the canal, but to the east the old route has generally been swallowed up by the residential development of Milton Keynes.
