Considered by Pevsner to be Hedon's best domestic building, the Old Hall, Nos.2 & 4 Fletcher Gate, was built circa 1700 for Henry Waterland (1673-1766), solicitor, patron of the Borough, several times Mayor, and brother of Dr Daniel Waterland, Archdeacon of York.
