Monument c1605 in St.Peter & St.Paul's church http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3665357 to Dr.Thomas Maxfield DD who succeeded his father as Rector of Ash in 1575. He is depicted kneeling in prayer with his wife Joan .... whether she is his first or second wife (both called Joan) is unknown.
