The rustic branch from Gilling East to Kirkbymoorside (Kirby Moorside) via Nunnington and Helmsley last saw trains over 40 years ago. There was never a proper station at Harome, just a siding at this spot, to serve the village about a mile away. In Harome village there is to this day an old fashioned signpost directed to "Harome Siding".
