The self-discharging bulk carrier CSL (Canada Steamship Lines) Clyde on the Manchester Ship Canal at Ellesmere Port. This ship makes regular deliveries of coal from Scotland to Ellesmere Port. An onboard deck-mounted mechanical shovel travels the length of the hold on rails. The shovel digs cargo from the ship's holds, transferring it into a hopper prior to discharge.
