The chapel shown on the map near this spot has gone. The cemetery is marked off from St Mary's churchyard which shares the same site by a line of white posts to the south of the church. The largest monument here topped by an angel is that dedicated to Sir Peter Griggs who was the first MP for Ilford. He died in 1920.
