Grade I Listed former merchant's house c1490, converted to dwellings and shops in the early 19th century. In 1921 the house was given to the town of Thetford by Prince Frederick Duleep Singh (1868-1926) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Duleep_Singh to be used as a museum http://www.museums.norfolk.gov.uk/Visit_Us/Ancient_House/index.htm
