The building, on the corner of Parkes Passage and High Street, dates partly from around 1800 and the rest from around 1820. It is rendered over brick, with Welsh slate roof. Grade II listed. The listing text suggests the building was probably originally a pair of shops and dwellings. For many years the building has been occupied by Lloyds TSB Bank, formerly Lloyds Bank. On the 9th September 2013 the TSB name (originally standing for Trustee Savings Bank) was revived, when over 600 branches were split off to form the new TSB bank. This branch was one of them, meaning there is no longer a Lloyds Bank branch in the town.
