Looking like an ancient earthwork, this is almost certainly an old field boundary. Once farmland, the woods only appeared after World War I which explains why there are no ancient trees to be found in Brick Field Woods. The name suggests that bricks were once manufactured in this area alongside Cuffley Brook and there is evidence of gravel extraction a short distance to the north of here.
