Portland: sunny view over Fortuneswell

Fortuneswell is the name of the main town area of the island, and the hilltop road is a perfect vantage point to see it in its wonderful setting at the southern end of Chesil Beach, the ten-mile shingle spit which stretches out of the left-hand side of the picture. The western half of the harbour is beyond, with the suburbs of Weymouth in the distance below a line of abruptly ending clouds.
