Dating from the 13th century with later alterations, this was originally the Great Hall (or guest hall) of the monastery attached to Ely Cathedral. After the dissolution of the monasteries the building passed to the Dean of the Cathedral. Since 1941 it has been the residence of the Bishop of Ely, who downsized from here Image .
