Looking north-east towards McGeestown. For those interested in railway history and archaeology the hedge running across the field marks where the trackbed of the former railway to Cookstown lay. It closed in 1959 and was quickly ploughed under and built over so that little trace of it can now be seen from the ground. Aerial pictures, though, show much of the route in the shape of crop marks, the remains of bridge supports in rivers and short stretches of hedgerows like this.
