The City Hospital, Belfast (usually “The City”) started life in 1841 as the workhouse. This building (usually known as “The Tower Block”) opened much later, after delay and an inquisitive eye from the Comptroller and Auditor General. The hospital buildings are in two squares. Continue to Image
