At the heart of the new town's road system is a 4-lobed cloverleaf junction. It is an interchange between two major through routes: the east-west Warwick-Bromsgrove A4189/A448 and the somewhat more tortuous north-south Birmingham-Evesham route via Alcester, A441-A448-A435-A46. The junction spares the old town centre from through and local traffic. West of the junction roads have to negotiate steep slopes. Although prominent on maps the whole junction is not visible from the road, being set within dense young woodland. Looking south, this is one of the few views of this major feature that is possible from the surrounding area. On the left is the slip road for joining the eastbound Warwick Highway. On the right traffic from the eastbound Bromsgrove Highway is joining the northbound Alvechurch Highway. See also Image and Image Just before the bridge the cloverleaf section from the Bromsgrove Highway joins out of view on the left and, to the right of the bridge the exit for the cloverleaf to the Warwick Highway is just visible. The view is from the footbridge over the Alvechurch Highway Image
