View NE, towards buffer-stops - when the station was there, closed 5/1/70. It was the terminus of an ex-Midland & GCR Joint branch from New Mills, thence Stockport and Manchester. Behind is St Matthews Church, Middle Moor and in the distance Kinder Scout (2,070 ft.) in the High Peak district.
