No.179 Spring Bank was originally built 1875 as the New Jerusalem Church of the Swedenborgian sect. The short tower was originally topped by a spire. After closure in 1948, the building was a second-hand furniture store for many years. It was converted back into a church in 2006 for The International Christian Fellowship. Next door and at the junction with Norwood Street, Nos.181 & 183, the Kurdistan Restaurant has been established for a number of years.
