Considered to be the grandest house in the street, No.114 Coltman Street was built 1854 by Benjamin Musgrave, who was also responsible for No.168. Between 1874 and 1890, the house was occupied by Christopher Pickering (1842-1920), trawler fleet owner and philanthropist, commemorated by a blue heritage plaque in 2013. After having been subdivided into flats by the City Council, the building was vacant and falling into disrepair when it was sold in 2012 to the present occupier.
