These models in their cases stretch across one side of the library, where there is also a large collection of books about railways amassed by a former librarian. Acocks Green is one of Birmingham's branch libraries. The nearest of the models is a British Pullman car named Hazel. The second is labelled: 1st class day and sleeping coach, lightweight construction, built by The Metropolitan Cammell Carriage and Wagon Co Ltd., Birmingham, England, for East African Railways, 1954. The third, apparently timber-clad, is marked only Restaurante, Central Brazil. I wonder if these models were made by the company, whose Saltley and Washwood Heath works were only 4-5km away.
