The Youth Hostel Association of Northern Ireland opened this larger-than-usual hostel in 1945. It could accommodate 28. It lasted only until late 1948, when the owner needed the house to be returned. YHANI hurriedly set up a replacement hostel at Glenariff. Please contact if you have any tales to tell of old hostels like this.
