Viewed from a street named Round Wood (or Roundwood). Located in the NE of Cardiff, the school's intake areas are Llanedeyrn, Pontprennau, Penylan and Cyncoed. There are about 650 boys and girls enrolled, aged 11-16. The school opened in 1970 as Cardiff's first purpose-built comprehensive school.
