The Armada Post commemorates Lowestoft's involvement with the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588. The post is renewed every 100 years. The Scores are a network of narrow lanes leading down to the sea - the name is thought to derive from the Norse 'skur' which means 'notch'. See Image for a close-up of the plaque.
