Edge Lane, Droylsden. This was a location on the trolleybus service to Audenshaw via Ashton New Road where peak hour workings could turn short if required. The two trolleybuses seen here - one from Manchester and one from Ashton - were being used for a private tour of the complete Manchester and Ashton system resulting in both vehicles visiting parts that they would not normally have reached. Ashton trolleybus did not normally work on the Ashton New Road corridor at all, let alone use this particular turning loop. The final closure of the trolleybus system was only six months ahead.
