A public footpath connecting Balcombe Road and Church Lane. Physically a lane at each end, there is now a narrow foot alley in the middle. This was originally the east end of Blackwater Lane, but became more or less redundant after the building of a road diversion, Balcombe Road, in the early 19th century. This was to avoid the steep hill on the Church Lane route, then the main road.
