The dedication plaque on the memorial http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3586048 . Note that Beeston is still referred to as a village at this period. Of the four individuals commemorated, two are recorded as having died from diarrhoea, a telling comment on the state of health in those days and a reminder of why Florence Nightingale become so well known for the work that she did in the conflict.
