Although they 'neighbour' each other, this church and this cemetery exist as separate entities. The south-facing church window belongs to a Grade I-listed redundant church - St Cross - that now houses the Balliol College Historic Records Collection, whilst these graves are in Holywell Cemetery. The gated entrance to Holywell Cemetery is behind the photographer and is easy to miss as a result of being set back from the normal St Cross Road building line. A gulley and a boundary wall separate these two areas. This cemetery is also managed as a wildlife refuge.
