Replica sculpted in 1992 of one of the figureheads that have stood at the narrow entrance to Custom House Quay for much of the last 200 years. The original 'Wooden Dolly' was from the collier brig, 'Alexander & Margaret' which was attacked and ransomed off the north-east coast by a privateer in 1781. It became famous by the habit of sailors who removed pieces as lucky charms.
