One of the flooded former claypits on the northern edge of the C.S. Lewis Nature Reserve with a glimpse of his former home - "The Kilns", Lewis Close - through the trees. C.S. Lewis apparently enjoyed skinny-dipping in one or other of the two larger 'lakes', as presumably did some of the children evacuated to the Kilns from London during WWII? It has been available to the public since 1969 although the current state of the water makes swimming seem unlikely.
