The sculpture is probably made from a 'Corten'-type steel in sheet form; the composition of the steel allows surface corrosion that does not deteriorate further. Love it. Some of the stones around the base bear inscriptions: The Ascent of the Risen Lord and Descent of the Holy Spirit Church of the Holy Ascension June 2000 A.D.
