Buses in Walsall Bus Station

Image: © David Hillas Taken: 20 Sep 1969

Taken in September 1969, this photo shows on the left a 1969 Daimler Fleetline 107 (XDH 507G) with Northern Counties 68-seater bodywork about to leave the Bus Station on Circular route 24 to Paddock, whilst on the right is 839 (WDH 914) a 1956 Daimler CVG6 with Willowbrook 66-seater bodywork on route 16 to Lichfield via Walsall Wood and Pipe Hill. The bus says route 13, but that is incorrect. Both vehicles were operated by Walsall Corporation Transport which was taken over by the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive on the 1st October 1969. Walsall bus station has been rearranged since this photo was taken.
