This late 15th century timber-framed house on Castle Street, is Grade II-listed because of its important historical associations. An inscription on the gable end facing up the street states that Thomas Oken, who was a wealthy mercer of the town (died 1573), gave this house for charitable purposes. It was restored in 1864 (http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-307412-okens-house-warwick-warwickshire British Listed Buildings)
