The shopping centre celebrates its fortieth anniversary this July. Its entrance remains striking with its coats of arms. One is a version of the city's original coat from the thirteenth century and another the Tudor coat of 1564. The Corinthian columns mirror those of the old 1856 Eastgate market which used to be nearby. The clock includes a little motto - see Image
