Manufactured and erected by Redpath, Brown & Co. of Edinburgh in 1826. Repaired by Redpath, Brown and Co. in 1928. Strengthened and reconstructed by Borders Regional Council 1991. Category B listed. Category changed from A to B in November 1998 (presumably to reflect the substantial and significantly appearance-altering reconstruction of 1991).
