A tower on the former Sileby brewery site is seen from the entrance to The Malt House's yard on High Street. The Sileby Brewery was taken over by the Strettons of Derby in 1920 and later on - in 1927 - by Samuel Allsopp & Sons. This brewery was well-known for stout production and was in use until the early 1980s. See also: Image
