The single-storey public library on Cossington Road with The Chine House Veterinary Hospital beyond the large tree in the centre of the picture. This animal hospital is situated in a large mansion that may have been built c.1860 as "Sileby Hall" for William Sharpe, the entrepreneur who developed the former brewery off High Street? An elderly local man advised me that he remembers it being an orphanage once and later, a hospital (or a Unit) for physically or mentally handicapped patients.
