Originally The Hull & East Riding Club, No.11 Anlaby Road. Built 1902 in Jacobean style. Later, the Merchant Navy Hotel, the faded lettering of which can be seen above the first floor window. Extension to the east 1970s-80s. Now the Gilson Hotel. Incorporates the Merchant Navy Club Ltd., entrance at No.204 Ferensway.
