View SE, towards Galashiels, Hawick and Carlisle: ex-NBR Edinburgh - Carlisle main line (Waverley Route). The station and the whole route were closed 6/1/69, but are scheduled for restoration by 2015 as the Borders Railway from Edinburgh to a temporary (?) terminus just south of Galashiels at Tweedbank. (Cf. Image]).
