Leaving Buriton, the Hangars Way follows a valley northwards. At one time this valley must have had a much larger river to be as deep as it is. The Hangars Way is a Hampshire County Council route from Queen Elizabeth Country Park, near here, to Alton, following as near as possible the beech woodlands known as hangars.
