Leek town centre. Looking towards Haywood Street (centre of photo, in the distance), from the end of Fountain Street; the eastern end of Derby Street is in front of the buildings on the right. The roundabout at the end of Derby Street was removed, amid some controversy, during 2012; the new arrangement was complete by the end of 2012. This photo shows on the right the new "public realm"; on the left, behind Ashbourne Road, is the Smithfield shopping centre, built in the 1960s.
