What a spectacular old ruin. I understands that a £6m renovation has been mooted to turn this old hotel into a modern 55 room four-star hotel. It was the listed Marine Building, a former Victorian era hotel built in 1865 in rare yellow brick in the French renaissance style with pavilion roof towers and ornamental iron balcony features. It was last utilised as offices and flats but has been vacant for 30 years and deteriorated, suffering fires and water damage making it structurally unsound. Shame. With its location I would think a facelift / rebuild would be a good bet business-wise.
