The Swan Inn is situated on the B2096 that runs between Heathfield and Battle ahead. Located some 14 miles inland on the high Weald, it was possible many years ago to sit in the rear bay window and on a clear night see the Royal Sovereign lighthouse flashing nearly 30 miles away.
