A small estate developed from the 1930s onwards when this part of Findon was transferred to Worthing. The road forms a four sided shape with an entrance extending eastwards to Findon Road, the A24. This section in view is the western end which was not completed until after the Second World War and is located on the site of two small fields called West Compiers and South Mill Lane Croft.
