On the Welbeck Estate. The rough grass marks the line of a tunnel that ran 1.5 miles from the main house to a lodge at the north of the estate. The tunnel, abandoned in the late 19th century, was wide enough for two carriages to pass. The tunnel entrance is still visible Image
