Quite a reasonable number of passengers alighted from this train. Elsecar is the least well served station on the Sheffield to Barnsley line as during the daytime only one of the four trains per hour between Sheffield and Barnsley makes a stop here. Oddly enough, the service is better in the early evening when two per hour actually stop. The service to Huddersfield (see indicator board) also only makes stops here during the early evening period.
