Both sides of Bedford Hill, which is part of the B272, are graced with excellent large houses, most of which have now been subdivided into flats, but which are almost all well-maintained and attractive. Of course, it did not occur to the builders of these houses in the nineteenth century that space would one day be needed for motor cars, so although detached, they are very close together.
