This bench mark is below street level next to steps down to Ontario Basin, formerly No.8 Dock. The mark is recorded on the 1891 Town Plans but is no longer on the Ordnance Survey database. The Salford docks were opened by Queen Victoria in 1894, so this mark must relate to the survey of the docks carried out when they were first built. See also Image
