At the junction with Fountain Road, the former Northumberland Avenue Board School, opened 1897, designed by John Bilson, a prominent local architect, in a plain Queen Anne style. Closed 1942. After 1945 and until 1964, the educationally sub-normal school and a nursery shared the building. Now occupied by Humber Archaeology Partnership, which is jointly funded by Kingston upon Hull City Council and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. See also: Image
