It would be interesting to know the age of these notices (which have clearly been renewed when the bridge was restored). I believe horses were originally allowed to cross, perhaps one at a time? I can't imagine which of the listed offences could possibly deserve imprisonment. The trouble with the modern world is that we all know it's a bluff!
